Christian’s biggest achievements

  1. The absolute highlight was when he left Fortum, and in their speech they said: "Because of you, we can't wait to get to work".
  2. As Chair, he led Raketech from its first Board meeting, where the minutes from the first meeting were half an A4 page, to an IPO in just one year. An entrepreneur's journey at express speed but without any shortcuts.
  3. He was a big driver in the software push for the government's 'HemPC' project (a tax-subsidised scheme to help all employees in Sweden buy their first desktop computer), for the EMEA region. He secured the reseller channel and created a consumer market of billions for Microsoft Sweden.

Christian’s beliefs

  1. Lead from the front. Involve everyone in the journey towards the goal and give them the opportunity to be committed and involved - your leadership is contagious.
  2. Although it's people who make the difference and not Excel spreadsheets, financial stability is still necessary if an organisation is to develop a strategy and the tenacity to exeute on it.
  3. Being a leader should be a project, and not your whole life.

About Christian

Christian is an experienced business leader and board member, who can also boast of having played badminton for the Swedish national team. For many years he’s been a senior manager of international companies such as Microsoft and Fortum, and has a long list of board positions. Christian understands company dynamics and knows what the challenges are – including everything from internal politics to business development.

He has worked extensively with entrepreneurial ventures, from start-ups to stock exchange listed companies. Sectors that are close to his heart include IT, energy, gaming, management consulting and the service industry.

Christian also has a degree in economics from Stockholm University. He has worked for over twenty years in American companies, of which nine years were spent at Microsoft where he quickly became Deputy CEO, and later the CEO of Sweden and Regional Director for the Nordic and Baltic regions. At Fortum he was responsible for Sweden and Norway, and tasks included changing internal mindsets and shifting the focus from technology to customer needs. He instigated a huge journey of change throughout the Fortum Group.

Currently he runs his own business and is engaged in advisory and board membership assignments. He thrives when managers ask for his expert opinion on their ideas, and is more than happy to take on the role of Chair. He always makes sure to work closely with company management and gets to know the company’s DNA inside out.

Christian is unpretentious, trustworthy and engaging. He has a genuine interest in other people and is driven to make things a little better by working with others. Over the years, he’s struggled with many types of challenges, and through that has learned not only what works, but also what doesn’t get results. We all make mistakes and it’s important to be honest with ourselves in these kinds of situations, in order to develop and move forward.

From sports, he brings with him the knowledge that even if you win, defeat is always just round the corner. You have to challenge yourself, set your sights higher and get things done.

In his free time he enjoys staying active, and alternates sailing with hunting and hiking in the mountains.
