Working long-term to make others feel better gives him so much more than just money and a career. Brian has customers who've gone from having serious health problems to now being so interested in diet and exercise that they themselves hold training sessions and educate themselves further in this field. Health has become a major interest.
  2. He realised early on that knowledge is important - just as important as commitment. In the same way that you take courses and study various subjects, you also need to educate yourself about your health. That knowledge then allows you to make smarter choices in your everyday life. It also provides perspectives on things like the norms in society around health, for example why we eat as we do, and how we can break free from these and choose another path. Eating well may require having different strategies for different occasions.
  3. Another effect that Brian sees in his customers is that when they start making health changes, they also start making other changes in their lives. With their newly found energy, they take the reins and realise their dreams.

Brian’s beliefs

  1. You need to be fit for life. If you're not in shape, you can't do what you want to do. It's sad to see people who could make improvements to their health, but instead choose to live a more limited one.
  2. It's the small changes that bring the biggest results over time. Introducing change gradually is the most sustainable way. No sudden dramatic changes. It can include basic ideas such as changing your lunch to begin with.
  3. The importance of commitment. Finding the right momentum for change is extremely important, as is having a genuine commitment. When you want to achieve something but aren't ready to change any habits, you won't succeed.

His upbringing has had a great influence on him, as he grew up in a multicultural family, where frameworks and rules were important, but the human perspective was equally valuable.
