About Binette

Binette is someone who really inspires confidence and furthers understanding of issues such as inclusion, integration and diversity. She has the ability to think outside the box, and is the perfect innovation partner within CSR. She provides new perspectives that enable companies and organisations to rapidly see what needs to be done to create a real difference. She likes to connect business with societal impact. Binette was named IT Woman of the Year by CGI Sweden in September, 2021.

Her explanations and guidance come from her own experiences, and she always goes through concepts carefully and patiently. Binette grew up in Tensta, Stockholm, with parents who worked their way up, as newly arrived academics.

Through her calm manner and interest in others, Binette quickly engenders a feeling of confidence and professional professionalism in conversations. No questions are too big or too small. She knows that there are many who are struggling and have lofty goals within integration, but then have a hard time finding the right way, and aren’t sure how to really walk the walk.

We can all have nice photos and PR, but to really dare to recruit and include those don’t look like us requires more of an effort. That’s where she’s happy to guide, explain and provide specific advice for planning and communication.

At the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA), Binette was involved in various government initiatives. She also has over 15 years’ experience in the tech and IT industry. She’s a lecturer in Sustainability at Bergh’s School of Communication for the program ‘Advanced Advertising & Design’ and has experience of being an international project manager. She’s also trained in the area of exports, has worked as a recruitment consultant and has a certificate in Sustainable Business Management from Harvard Business School.

Helping young people in vulnerable areas understand their value is an issue that’s close to Binette’s heart. She realised early on that this is the perfect sector where young people from council estates can make an important contribution and enter the labour market. Because of this she now runs many different initiatives to motivate and educate young people. It’s a fantastic example of how to create inclusion and actually create an impact on society.

Binette feels particularly pleased when company management dares to open up and talk about the real challenges, and how much they really know about inclusion. Sometimes it’s about thinking through the whole business idea. In other cases it can be about strengthening the leaders in the company, making them more courageous and helping everyone understand what a great source of knowledge we have if we see everyone for the resources they really are. Here, communication is very important. How companies live and tell their story can make all the difference.
